Tour Description:
Escape the city and unwind in one of Alaska’s most beloved destinations: Chena Hot Springs Resort. This full-day adventure combines natural beauty, relaxation, and fascinating local innovation.
Enjoy a scenic 60-mile journey from Fairbanks through Alaska’s wilderness, where moose, foxes, or beavers might make an appearance. Upon arrival, step inside the Aurora Ice Museum, an extraordinary year-round structure made entirely of over 1,000 tons of ice and snow. Admire stunning ice carvings and, if you’d like, sip an Appletini from a hand-carved ice glass at the famous ice bar (optional, 21+).
Next, savor a delicious lunch at the resort restaurant (optional, not included), featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients from their on-site greenhouse. Then slip into your swimsuit and soak in the natural hot springs, where mineral-rich water, kept at a soothing 106°F (41°C), offer the ultimate rejuvenation for body and soul.
For those curious about sustainability, you can also join an optional geothermal and greenhouse tour to learn how the resort harnesses renewable energy to power its facilities.
As the afternoon winds down, stroll the tranquil grounds or browse the gift shop before regrouping with your guide for the scenic return to Fairbanks.
